Seems there is a Piast and a Piast Wroclawski...not sure what the difference is. The normal Piast kind of tastes like banana and was a bit sweet. Anyway let's give this one a chance. Sugar on the ingredients, not the best sign.

First impressions are that it looks pretty lively. Lots of effervescence and big bubbles in the head. A little pale and watery in terms of its appearance however, below the head. Quite a musky aroma, sweet malt and banana. Lots and lots of banana.

Hops are very much in the background. The sweet banana taste dominates. Which is exactly what I remember from the original Piast, maybe they are the same beer? No idea. There are also some other flavours happening...honey, maybe a little grape and tamarind. Taste is a little unique. But mouth feel is mega thin and watery. When I drink it, I feel like I don't want to drink any more of it. No dryness, the sweet banana taste and thin syrupy mouth feel dominate. Not a fan.

I had this on tap from a bar in Wroclaw, Poland.

A: Bright gold, with a healthy head.

S: Smooth and malty, and a faint smell of a wet dog.

D: Medium bodied. Flavor is dominated by malt.

M: Smooth and refreshing.

D: Decent and not too heavy. A good beer for prolonged drinking.
