For some reason the can has a Warsaw address on, however from their website, it is indeed produced at the same brewery as Okocim. Even though I used to love Carlsberg when I was 7 years old, as they sponsored Liverpool, more recently the Danish and other versions of Carsberg have not lived up to their slogan, "Probably the best beer in the world". And as I really do not like Okocim, I'm not very hopeful. At least no hops extract or glucose syrup on the ingredients, however it goes say "Premium", which is never a good sign.
Totally ok head. Froth stays on the sides of the glass after pouring. Thin appearance. Rather large bubbles. Very sweet malt aroma with some light flowery hops. But honey sweet, as opposed to sugar syrup sweet (which is worse than honey sweet).
There is some balance created by the hops, to counteract the malt sweetness. And a little effervescence on the tongue in the aftertaste. Honey and lemon/orange peel dominate. Feel is thin but not as thin as some other Euro pilsners out there.
Mega easy drinking. Hops are not really strong enough. Mega simple and taste on the tongue only lasts a few seconds with some faint fizzy bitterness. Kind of refined and boring. But better than I actually expected.
