Gold Medal at Tayrona Cup as the best Amber Ale of this prestigious competition. This amber ale boasts a delicate blend of toffee and caramel sweetness complemented by a subtle grainy-biscuity essence, culminating in a hint of roasted dryness on the palate.

A profusion of micro-fine carbonation is visible within the gem clear, dark copper beer (SRM 16-19). The light chestnut foam is fine and tight. The head collapses from three quarters of an inch to a thick cream that holds for the duration. Lace forms a coating on the IIPA glass.

The malt is strong, with light pine tar accents. Roasted nuts and Heath bar are also discernible.

The flavor opens with toasted malt and mild sweetness. Caramel, wheat bread and nuts follow without any significant presence of hops. The finish is long, mild and pleasant, as it carries the nuttiness to completion.

Creamy smooth with a medium body and alcohol well below expectations. Carbonation is light.

I found this to be super easy to consume and one with which to while away the afternoon with casual conversation and snacks.

Undated can; drank 5/19/24 @ the Yarchives.

See-through dark amber appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big, noisy khaki head; nice lacing remained.

Acorn, raspberry & faint caramel notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Acorn & mild caramel flavors; FAINT raspberry & a hint of baking soda notes on the finish.

This smelled more enticing than it tasted; it's not awful, but I wouldn't seek it out.

Poured a dense, copper-colored body with decent head and no lace. Decent but not overpowering aroma of hops and malts. Light to medium body with a spring-like hoppiness on front with a bready, biscuit-like maltiness taste on the back. Beer is slightly sticky and has a crisp, noticeable bitterness on end and is refreshing.
