Had Nightmare at Key City brewpub, Vicksburg, Mississippi, on draft into tulip.
Pours absolutely black with minimal tan head, which leaves a single, broken ring of lace. Muted aromas of grassy hops and mild cocoa. Begins dark but not quite bitter chocolate, then some sweeter chocolate, mild roast malts, a bit of caramel, and a hint of dark fruits, leading into nice bittering hops for a crisp penultimate finish, which stretches into the long, lingering, final chocolate dessert finish.
Surprisingly muted aromas on this otherwise big, seriously chocolate, dessert stout.
