Poured from 500mL can into my Bierwerk Züri becher glass. Best by 4/8/27.
Appearance: pale golden hue with a clear body and a light effervescence. Head is a finger of frothy ivory foam.
Smell: kind of a neutral, crackery malt, and though it’s light, I’m finding it pretty nice for the style.
Taste: moderately sweet and slightly crackery malt, with a low bitterness and light hop character. What it does NOT have is that hint of cider I have tasted in a lot of Swiss lagers so far, and I applaud that. Mass-market or no, this is a good tasting helles.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a big carbonation and a decent creaminess.
Overall: this is a tasty and eminently quaffable helles. Maybe it gets poor reviews because it’s mass-market? If only US mass-market beers were as good.

Picked this up at the grocery store (it was everywhere) right next to one of the only laundromats in the city of Zurich. Crushed this one from the pounder while waiting, sweating it out in the 90 degree heat. Pretty basic and down the middle of the road…cereal/grainy malt, and mild grassy/fruity hops. nothing too notable or memorable, but no flaws either. Hard to rate carefully, but…since I was just enjoying some pretty great Helles while in Munich a few days ago, this one seems to fall well short of those. Still, happy to have it, and wouldn’t hesitate to try it again in better circumstances.

On a plane from Vancouver to Zürich 28/7 2018. 33 cl can bought at the plane. A quite uplifting drawing of a Swiss guy in a Folky Costume accompagnied by his Dog and a Cow on the can. Mountains in the background.
Pours clear yellow with medium-sized white head. Stable. Settles as thin layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing in the plastic cup.
Aroma is sweet and medium intense. Sweet pale malts and light saltiness. Bread and a hint of citrus. Sourish notes. Pretty simple.
Light carbonation. Thin, watery, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by somewhat stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Clean and crisp Swiss Helles.

This beer was everywhere in Switzerland's jungfrau region, so I figured I would give it a try. Had on tap. Crystal clear golden body, white head dies down slowly, spotted lacing on the glass. Aromas of bread yeast, cereal malt, lemon and grassy hops. Honestly taste is much the same, sweeter than the nose with some honey, more grainy than bready. Feel is actually fuller and heavier than expected, not wispy or short lived like so manner beers of this caliber. For a cheaper beer this actually is not bad at all

Switzerland 12 pack of beer at COOP Grocery store for 12 Swiss Francs. That's $1.22 USD per beer, cheap even for USA standards. Immediately reminds me of a German wheat beer. Taste is really good, mouth feel is pleasant. 4.8% ABV quite low but still seems to work. I can't say anything bad about it as it honestly tastes great. Not a beer type I would normally drink, but there are few choices in Switzerland and I really liked this one. Switzerland isn't cheap, and even this cheap beer is excellent in my opinion. Guessing 150 calories per beer based on experience as you can't get this much flavor from a 100 calorie beer.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours golden yellow and transparent. White head with solid lacing. The nose is caramel candy, wheat, bread, honey, and grains.
Taste is grainy, cereal, biscuit, wheat, orange, candy, and slight hops.

Picked up a tall can dated 07.01.2024 at the Coop near the hotel in Zurich. Good price for Switzerland. Not as bad as I expected, oddly enough. Fuller and richer than a typical beer of this style. Tasty.
