Poured from 330mL can into a wine glass. Best by 12/24/26. Looks like Egger used to be its own brewery (there’s a brewery with a similar name in Germany), but this can clearly states it was brewed by Locher here in Switzerland.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a crystal-clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: the malt aroma is not bad, but it has this kind of “wet grain” aroma to it. I mean, what is beer but wet grain? That notwithstanding, the aroma is decent, if not my favorite.
Taste: on the sweet side but with a grainy character and a moderate bitterness. Not a particular flavor to the hops, though. It’s fine; basically fills the bill for a European megalager.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I mean, it’s streets ahead of our cheap beer in America, but there are other cheap beers in Europe that I would drink before this one.
