Built for the height of summer, Abettor is beating the Winchester heat with a tried and true thirst quencher of a raspberry wheat ale.
Simply but aptly named Raspberry Wheat pours curiously golden and with a very slight hint of rouge. With a bubbly froth lasting midway through the session, a bold red berry perfume wafts across the nose in a ripe, radiant and juicy display. As suggestions of light bread, dough and honeysuckle, the early palate is pleasantly sweet and mild.
But its back to the raspberry as the ale washes the middle palate. The bold berry flavor hinges on strawberry, blackberry and blueberry because of its strong and juicy fruit character. As the sweetness subsides, the berry flavors dry slightly to expose a very mild hop balance and a pleasant tartness in tow.
Medium-light, crisp and refreshing, Raspberry Wheat is certainly an uptick to anything purple or anything haze.
