Sprinkled with all the goodies that Mosaic hops provide, Abettor's hazy IPA showcases this hop and all of its hoppy cheer.
Golden and light chrome, Dapple pours with a fine mesh silt while topping off with a bright white foam. As a lightly pungent citrus scent rises, it does so with dark berry, tropical fruit and the dankest of herb. Moderately sweet, the early flavors set a more malty tone with hints of cereal, honeysuckle and vanilla wafer.
As the grain sweetness calms, the hops billow on the middle palate, sharing its passionfruit, kiwi and lime-like flavors. As hints of honeydew, gooseberry and black currant show secondary nuances, the ale fades into a smooth but peppery bitterness with a balance of black tea, verbena, sassafras and hemp.
Medium bodied yet trending lighter and drier in nature, the session shows a low level of peppery hop tannins that help with balance but show restrained astringency that carries over to a medium length aftertaste.
