When weaving together different styles, techniques and ingredients, its best to proceed with caution. And in the end, there’s reasons to be very hoptimistic
And that’s why Abettor’s Cautionary Hoptimism celebrates the Kviek-style with such confidence. The stronger hazy IPA pours expectedly cloudy white topping off with a creamy white cap ahead of a fruity, citrusy, tropical, herbal and grassy twang. Sweeter as expected, a doughy, cereal and honey-sweet startup frames the grain profile heading into taste.
A bounty of fruitiness from citrusy white grapefruit and orange, to tropical passionfruit and pineapple, to orchard pear and apple, and finally to peach and honeydew to complete the fruit cocktail. Trending smoothly bitter, the late palate is herbal with green tea, verbena, hemp and citrus peel, the late palate is balanced, pleasantly bitter and drying.
Medium bodied, creamy and smooth, the herbal flavors trend a little vegetal and pectin-like while the yeast profile is almost belgian-esque with fruity esters and yeast spices to close.
