Crowler from brewery. Light amber body, thin white head. Slight malty aroma. Taste brings more light malty character. Very light, should be a bit more robust.

among the best of the lager types i have had in here, a really tasty seasonal german brew, well crafted and cleaner on the fermentation than the others i have had from them in this family. the malt is light compared to other examples of the style, still light orange in color, but without some of the more robust toasted and caramelized notes a lot of them have, which leaves it being somewhat more drinkable, and also lighter on the finishing sweetness, more crisp than we usually see, but without sacrificing any of the needed yeast character or grain richness. i get light honey, toffee, and golden raisin notes, a classic german lager yeast strain, and an ever so light hop bitterness to finish. its really sessionable as they go, and has a baked note without ever being heavy at all, which keeps it drinking like a fall beer to me. although lighter overall than a lot of the best marzens that come around this time of year, its a nice beer, well executed, and even distinctive for them in the early going here. i could drink a half dozen glasses of this and be thrilled this time of year. well done, one of their best beers to date...
