i havent really seen to many belgian ipa types go hazy yet, so i was pretty keen on this style fusion, especially now that these guys have had a little time to get things dialed in. its a nice beer, bold in both yeast and hop complexion, and maybe a little heavier and rawer than i want to drink a ton of, but an enjoyable drink nevertheless, and there is an exciting interplay between the dry hop profile and these high tone belgian yeast esters. the haziness is uniform and pretty dense, the beer is pale orange in color, and the head is high and white, airy and lasting. the yeast has green banana, pear, and bubblegum notes, definitely fermented real warm and allowed to run. the hops bring piney and spicy notes, along with some light tropical character, fresh orange, mango, and passion fruit, and in combination with the yeast its quite nice. i like how robustly belgian it is, if its going to be american belgian like this, meaning a samey yeast strain and nothing rustic about it, you might as well go for it, let it loose, and they have here. decent bitterness for the finish to balance some earlier sweetness too, and although this isnt all that complex or anything, its got enough going on to be entertaining. its nice to see the new beers coming in quick succession here, they keep getting better too. this could use a little cleaning up, more bubbles, and a lighter body, but they are on the right track with it for sure.
