this candy fruit thing is going to be a series of hoppy beers, this is the first i have had but at least the second or third they have done, i could stand a little more creativity in the naming, but i am happy with where the hoppy beers are going here, better and better all the time, and an area i think they started off a little weaker in. i dont think there is actual candy in this, they would be weird, but the hops do kind of present themselves that way, hints of peach ring and white gummy bear if i think about it, both in aroma and flavor, could be some cryo hops in the mix, as it seems to start early and go pungent right away, without really any bitterness. what i like about this on top of the unique and bright hop profile though is the fermentation profile, which really is to say that there isnt one, they have really cleaned this element up in their newer beers, and it is nice to see the improvement here, almost gone on the swallow, nothing residual or weird or unwelcome, even though the hops do sort of cast a belgian yeast ester vibe with the candied fruit and even gummy notes. medium body, decent carbonation, no burn or greenness for how hoppy it is, nice beer overall. id love to know more about the recipe!
