Appearance: A massive bubble show builds the full three fingers atop the brilliantly clear deep amber colored liquid; excellent retention with clumpy lacing

Smell: Burnt toast, charred wood, caramel and herbal tones

Taste: A hint of caramel provides the base for the herbal, smoky flavors to parade their complexity; slightly burnt, with a charred wood element; very earthy and herbal through the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation

Overall: Not sure if anybody else has tried making a smoked Oktoberfest but it sure works nicely

Can. Beautiful CLEAR amber with lasting small dense head and a little lace. Smoky brown sugar maple syrup herbal aroma. Smoky malty toasted maple syrup sweetness dark bread and smoky spicy herbal finish. Perfectly balanced. Medium body. Very fine internal carbo makes it cleanup nicely. TOTALLY FUCKING EXCELLENT. I've been to Bamberg a couple of time and this might be little spicy for the style, but for an American version is it near perfect.

16 ounce can packaged 09/21/23.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a nearly two inch light tan head over a dark brown body with sticky lacing.

Nose of roasted malt, dark malt, smoked malt, and slight pumpernickel.

Taste follows nose closely with the smoke flavors coming off as medium in intensity.

Mouthfeel is nice and full with a higher level carbonation.

Overall, this is a great rauchbier being not too smoky and quite tasty.
Kudos to the crew in Burlington, VT for this gem.
Cheers!
