Away Days is a well-known term in English football (soccer) culture, referring to the day you go and watch your team play in another city. The day is all about traveling with your community, celebrating (or commiserating) your team, and building experiences around your passion for football, travel and beer.

Opened in 2019 by former Toffee Club owners and British transplants Niki Diamond and Pete Hoppins, Away Days Brewing is inspired by a love of the beautiful game and favourite beer-drinking memories of European travels.

Friendly vibes all around at the bright, airy, and welcoming spot. They brew a range of beers with a definite tilt towards English-style ales. Dedicated rotating cask handle. Food truck outside. Definitely worth a visit!

Small brewery in SE. Several Brittish-style beers on tap (including 2 on cask), in addition to a more typical American IPA and a German Festbier. Everything I tasted was solid, quality-wise. Love the football ⚽️ theme and the staff were all super friendly and helpful.

This is a small taproom in a converted, small light industrial building in the mixed light industrial area east of the river from downtown. It has a garage door which opens to the street, big windows, and a very nice decor with comfortable, relaxed indoor-outdoor feel. It is a very relaxed place with a comfortable vibe.

Beer quality is good, not outstanding. Range is somewhat small but they do have cask ales, so they get points for that. However, both cask ales at the time were lighter and kind of similar.

Little store front brewery with garage door to the street in mixed used area southeast of downtown. Small L-shaped bar on the left of the entrance seats about 5, a few tables and counter and sidewalk seating. 10 beers on tap. Friendly bartender.

stopped in here mid-afternoon for a couple beers on a day walking around SE Portland. We sat at the small bar inside, there were also tables throughout the cozy space. They had about 8 beers on draft, but the highlight for me was their two beer engines with cask beer. I had mugs of their cask English Pale Ale and ESB. Regular draft of the Brown Ale. All pretty good. Bartender was friendly.

tiny under the radar operation here, well worth checking out. i was surprised they arent as new as i thought they might be, several years now, i thought i was at least aware of all players in the portland scene, apparently not! its real small, and packed when we got there, some kind of family party, kid friendly at least for the day. a bar with just a handful of seats, a minimalist sort of aesthetic, possible outside space in nicer weather, but definitely an opening garage door or two and a lot of windows that would make the spot airy and open feeling if it wasnt the dead of winter when we visited. the brewery is packed in tight back to the right, seems like there is hardly room to move back there, they are cranking out quite a lot on such a modest system, bigger beer menu than the brew house would suggest possible. i was impressed with a cask brown ale and a true english bitter, the only two beers i had time for, but they were done authentic and to a high level, made me want to stay and drink through the rest of the lineup. the service was friendly as were the other patrons we interacted. cool neighborhood spot here, low brow but well executed brews, welcoming space, and really ahead of the curve in terms of beer quality, they would immediately be a standout in many other cities. definitely pop in for a couple beers, good vibes abound! neat that they package much of what they brew too, good looking cans!
