Volume 2 of the Swindler Hop Tandem Series, featuring Rakau and Nelson hops. Really wish BA had an IPA - NZ style category.
Appearance - Pours a hazy mango gold with two fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - Tropical fruits (pineapple, passion fruit, mango), citrus fruits (orange, lemon), notes of Sauvignon Blanc (grapes, gooseberry, peach), bready malts, caramel sweetness.
Taste - Pretty much as noted above, with a notable (but mild) soapy hop bitterness. Not as juice-forward as the aroma would suggest, but I like that.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Sticky attenuation.
Overall - An excellent release from Valley Brewing. I'm a big fan of NZ IPAs and this one doesn't disappoint.
