a simple but drinkable golden ale here, basic as they go, but with some malt flavor to it, not quite as dry or crisp as their pils, and without the little bit of yeast character that one has, but a well made beer if you are looking for something pretty neutral. its got great brightness visually, sparkles with clarity and sports a lively white head. it drinks just a tad less delicate than it looks, a little honey drip to it and a soft but lightly lingering cereal quality from the grain as well. the fermentation profile is tidy, no yeast complexion to this, but it could be a little drier i think. not much on the hop side either, pretty minimal beer overall, but a nice contrast to some of the bolder foods in here like their epic brussel sprouts or their chicken wing sandwich with bacon, which is pretty lights out! they have enough beers on the more flavorful end of the spectrum that something mellow like this fits in well. something for everyone here, and while this isnt my favorite by a long shot here, i also have no complaints with it...
