both old school and modern, amber, malty, rye malt too though which the name makes obvious, but then a whole bunch of brand new hop products, neat how they are finding new ways other than just pellets to get hop goodness into beer, and im sure these ingredients will continue to proliferate. i like how this is the best of both worlds then. clearish, bronze amber colored, chestnut maybe, short but lasting white head to it. aroma of pine, oily orange zest, and more of the rye coming through than anticipated, pretty robust which is cool, and it offsets some of the crystal and honey type malt richness and sweetness that is present, nice base for this. i think its cool how low alcohol it is too, anyone who says utah breweries cant get any flavor and texture into beers with such low alcohol content restrictions needs to rethink that, this certainly benefits rather than suffers from that, super good in that regard, not wanting for anything. the hops are big citrus, gin botanicals, and maybe a light mango tropical thing, juicy but also northwestern and not particularly tropical, but the hops start early like cryo hops do, but almost seem more on steroids, even though this is more a pale than an ipa in terms of bitterness and overall intensity, its maybe more pure and vibrant than it is highly dosed, distinct and delicious, and kind of playing off the dried fruit and nutty notes in the malt. medium body, soft feeling, nicely carbonated, a touch spicy at the end. overall really flavorful and good, nice for the fall, but a good year rounder too. impressive new one from these guys!

Taster at Boise Wiinter ALe fest. Amber pour, small off-white head. Rye aroma, grainy, musty, mild sweetness. More beautiful rye flavors in the taste, bready, musty, nice feel. Really nice showcase for rye.
