Pours a very dark brown, almost black coloration with a reddish tint when held up to the light and a small, fluffy head. Smells of caramel malt and a strong amareno cherry aroma, as well as hints of almonds and chocolate. Taste is dominated by the sweet and slightly tart amareno cherries, with lighter notes of caramel malt, almonds, chocolate and just a hint of coffee and licorice. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some amareno cherry and chocolate lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and medium carbonation.
This reminds a bit of Mon Chéri chocolates with its strong amareno cherry and chocolate notes, with the amareno cherry not feeling artificial at all. The sweetness and light tartness of the cherries is very nicely balanced by a strong bitterness in the finish, as well as lighter notes of coffee and licorice. All in all, Mon Chéri in a glass, balanced by a very good bitterness in the finish. Quite enjoyable if that's your kind of thing. There's a light booziness to this that's really not too bad though and kinda underlines the Mon Chéri feel with a kind of cherry liqueur note.
