Pours a dark reddish-brown. Clear, with one finger of creamy yellow-tan head. Good retention, nice lacing - a really nice-looking beer.
Smell is deep and almost nutty. A bit woody, dark grainy.
Taste is clean, a little bit spicy. Hard to describe. Nutty, woody, ambiguously brown. Pretty nice, actually.
Feel is surprisingly flat. A little watery and overly buoyant. More voluminous than I want it to be.
An interesting beer. The feel definitely hurts it, as I think the flavors would also shine more with better texture.
