an interesting brew here, hazelnut coffee blonde ale, flavorful, easy drinking, perhaps just slightly more of the hazelnut aspect than it needs, this doesnt have a whole lot of malt oomph to it, so those added flavors really stand out. looks like a normal blonde ale in the glass, maybe a shade darker towards brass, average white airy head, big sized bubbles, near clear. the coffee part is awesome, i guess they use whole beans for it, perhaps why the color isnt impacted much by it, but its cocoa forward, not too deeply roasted, with subtle nuttiness of its own, light smoke, and a warm and cozy vibe, really quality beans it seems, and strikingly low acidity, im sure it was cold conditioned. the hazelnut makes it seem a tad unnatural, im not even sure we need it in here at all, this would be a winner without it, but it adds a neat layer, a little nutella thing going on, but thankfully its not really sweet at all, and it does indeed go well with the coffee. relatively light bodied, close to clean on the ferment, simple behind the coffee and the hazelnut, but pretty well made. i enjoyed this as a morning beer, a hangover beer, its cool in that context. my first from thesis.
