A 500ml Brown glass bottle, label is in russian, the whole thing looks very eastern-european. the bottle has an 04/06 bottling date and an 10/06 expiration date, and i'm having it right in the middle - July.
Pours deep yellow and crystal clear, with large bubbles and a soft white head which does not stay.
A plain aroma of corn and grains with grassy notes.
Bland taste - nothing special, some malt and faint hops. A sweetner is listed as an ingredient, but this might refer to an adjunct (rice, corn).
Carbonated as all lagers, and pretty easy to drink if you can disregard the lack of taste. Not impressed.

Standard brown half liter bottle with a silver and red label featuring the Tolstyak ("fat guy") holding a mug of beer with a very satisfied grin on his face. The label's slogan states: "In the company of friends, another mug of beer provided with a good mood." No argument there. Rice is an ingredient. Best before 4/14/04, I opened it on 12/5/03.
Pours a clear bubbly, slightly orange gold under a one finger white head that settles quickly to film. The nose is slightly corny, while the mouth is mildly carbonated with a medium body. The opening taste in slightly sweet, with a bit of malt and some metallic hops. The main impression, though, is watery. The finish is metallic, but too minimal to qualify as harsh. There's a mildly bitter aftertaste, but not enough to save this experience. Yawn!
