New to this style, but this is a good beer regardless. Clear gold, lots of carb. Light pear and malt aroma. The flavor is impactful and flavorful. The refreshing start of ginger gold and Fiji apple parlays itself into becoming a slightly savory cinn-apple rice cake. A sweetish finish balanced by some Belgian fruit notes (I wonder where that comes from?)

16oz can into Nonic Pint
Canned 12/6/18
Pours a light clear gold, with big rocky white head
Has a sweet corn aroma,
Taste follows, with a crisp grainy follow, and a smooth finish with subtle banana notes
Feel is medium bodied, crisp with some creaminess
Overall this is a unique brew, with some nice lager crispness but creamy as well

A: The beer is crystal clear light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that left rings of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge.
S: Light to moderate aromas of rice are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of rice adjuncts with associated hints of sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This rice lager has a very nice malty and dry mouthfeel.
Serving type: can

Canned on 12/6/2018, Poured into Industrial Arts pint glass. It pours a crystal clear, bright straw color with a half finger of creamy, bright white head and a thin film of lacing. It's nose is fairly bold for the style with abundant lemon and rice cracker over a solid malt base. The taste closely follows the smell; the lemon is particularly tart and tangy and there is a subtle malt sweetness throughout. You can really taste the rice cracker and it finishes surprising hoppy and bitter. There is also a vaguely Belgian spicing at the end which isn't surprising given Ommegang's participation. The feel is crisp, clean, and lite with lively carbonation, and it's a supremely easy drinker at 5.4% Ommekase has all of the elements you'd expect in a good rice lager but the taste is much bolder than a typical AAL. This is the beer Budweiser could only wish to be. It's not a style I drink often but it's really enjoyable and I think the whole exceeds the sum of its parts as evidenced by my overall score. I'm a little surprised it was released in December rather than the summer. I hope it's not the last time we see Ommekase!
