Next up in the season of deep, dark beers is our Coffee Porter. Brewed with a killer malt bill and Sumatra Coffee from our friends at Trax Coffee Roasters (Beacon, NY). The nose on this beer is reminiscent of walking into a shop mid-roast, and with notes of baker's chocolate and toasted bread this true to style porter is a home run for a long winter weekend.

Canned 2/12/21, reviewed two days later. Poured into a Belgian tulip/snifter style glass. Cola like pour.
L: 4 Jet black body with a small to medium sized light tan head. The slightest bit of translucency. Evident carbonation.
S: 4.25 Dry. Malty. Sumatra coffee. A bit of hop dankness.
T: 3.75 Coffee all the way through. Sweet and chocolatey up front but finishes with an earthy, hoppy bitterness accompanied by a tinge of acidity.
F: 4. Thin mouthfeel. Cola-like.
O: 4. Great take on a style with a storied history. The kind of beer you'd expect to be available glancing at the brewery, which occupies a Civil War era factory building. Perfect for the end of winter (if this winter ever ends, that is...)
