Brauhaus Döbler

Situated in a cosy corner of the old town of bad Windsheim, Brauhaus Dobbler presents a relaxing and quiet location for a beer on a lazy Friday morning.

It's a clean and very well-maintained. Outside, there are half a dozen benches on the cobbled road, and inside, there are several small rooms with benches and tables. The restaurant serves its own beers and basic, hearty fare - I had the cold meats and bread plate and loved it.

Highly recommended if you're in the area.

This place is right in the center of town, about 10 minutes from the train station. It's a small little bar/pub attached to the brewery in the rear. There is one main room to the left as you enter off the street. It has about 5 tables seating 6 each, plus a larger Stammtisch located near the bar. A small, old oven sits over to the side between the door and the Stammtisch to offer some winter warmth. The place is filled with old, dark stained paneling, with old mugs and steins sitting upon small shelves on the walls.. Hops are strung all along the walls and ceilings as well. Light fixtures hanging from the ceiling are mini copper mash-tuns, with the bottoms open and light bulbs visible. No music playing, but this is a very authentic, comfortable place. The servers were both friendly and efficient. All the Biers here are their own; about 4 drafts and 3-4 bottled versions. I had 3 different ones, and all were well-made. Food here is a limited, light menu, offering mostly sandwiches or what I had - cold smoked Bratwurst with Brot (bread). The Brat was good, and all items are low-priced. Very nice place! Zum Wohl!
