Nothing welcomes the arrival of Fall like a good Festbier! For over 200 years, Bavarians have hosted Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, and we invite you to hoist some here in Chicago with us. Crafted with traditional German malts and Noble hops, this malty lager will have you donning your liederhösen and singing “ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit” with the best of them.

16 oz can into a mug. Clear deep amber/copper color with a foamy off-white head that receded to a thin film. Toasty caramel malt aroma with some spice. Similar flavor - sweet bready malt, mild spicy hops, some light nuttiness. Medium body with some creaminess.

Light orangey amber clear body with a full beige head and mild lacing. Smell is caramel malt centric with light earthy nuts. Toasty yeast, dark caramel malt, light earthy hops with bright nuts. Feel is frothy and malty, clean and classic, very easy drinking yet it invites you to sip and appreciate.

Released 9/1/21; drank 9/20/21 @ the Yarchives. The a.b.v. is listed as 5.8%, not sure if they've changed the recipe since it was first released.
See-through dark golden appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big khaki head; decent lace.
Dill pickle & mild acorn notes in the nose; odd for a marzen.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Dill pickle & caramel flavors. This is odd; it's not awful, but the dill pickle aspect if off-putting.
I won't seek this out next time!
