On tap at Nine Maidens Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a dark black, with some brown tints, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells, well, like a pretty typical porter. It’s mostly roasted malt, with a touch of chocolate on the nose.
I believe this is my first beer from Nine Maidens. It’s definitely a pretty straightforward porter – falls a little bit flat on the finish, but some nice clean roastiness up front. It’s serviceable, that’s probably the nicest thing to say about it.
This is lighter bodied, kind of thin for the style, and not creamy enough, but it’s definitely drinkable.
There’s not much to say positively or negatively about this one – it’s just there, it goes down easy, but you’re not going to remember it.
