Pours a deep burgundy with a haze / fog to the transparency. It's obscured enough you couldn't read through it, but can see objects. One finger of white foam forms on top with decent retention. Aroma is big raisins, plum, fig, and molasses. Some faint resiny hops add some stickiness to the otherwise English toffee notes before. It has an earthy finish, as the initial sugary notes fade off. It's not overly sweet, but does carry a fair amount of sweetness. Flavor profile is molasses, plum, fig, caramel, and toffee for sugary notes. Malts are toasty, caramely, and light bready malts. Again, some late, but faint, resiny hops add some further stickiness, before an earthy finish. Mouth feel is a steady, even fullness. Thickness is medium-thick. Overall, full and consistent/stready, but not thicc. Great middle ground.
