Cloudy, naturally, with an apricot juice look. A modest head that settles to film and rim bubbles. Some short, minor streaks for lace.
The base malt sets the table but does not dominate. Semisweet smell. The hop is both floral and prickly.
Well-balanced for a New England version. The malt, while thin as a mouthfeel, holds up throughout the tasting. Like the smell, it provides a touch of sweetness. The hop is like black pepper, but it appears more as a spice than the main ingredient. The carbonation is low but not enough to hide the thin body. The aftertaste is long and has some alcohol warmth. Overall, this is one of the better NE IPAs I've had.
