Note that this is not a European Strong Lager. Untappd lists it as a pale lager but that option is not available to choose. I'd choose American lager but the negative connotations of that style means that's not an appropriate choice.

Drunk fresh from the tap at Sauce's Cairns brewery and taproom.

This one pours a golden yellow. There is no head other than a thin ring clinging to the edge of the glass. No lacing.

Aroma is very clean, with water cracker malts and an ever-so-slight floral note hiding in the back somewhere.

Taste is as clean as the aroma. There's some earthy and floral hops - or are they slightly fruity? It's subtle enough that despite multiple sips I can't quite land on what I'm tasting. There's mild bitterness and a crisp finish.

In the mouth the beer is mildly carbonated and rather unremarkable, which is probably the point. It's eminently suited to the subtle flavours of the beer.

Overall this is a very enjoyable lager. At 4.2% ABV there's definitely room for more than one.
