On tap at FLX Fry Bird in Geneva, NY.
This one pours a dark, murky brown color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like roasted malt, red wine, cherry, smoke, and chocolate.
To my surprise and happiness, this is more stout than sour, which tends to be the balance that I prefer in this odd little style. There's chocolate, a clean smokiness, some red wine, a slight hint of tartness, grape, a smidgen of funk, and dark chocolate.
This is pretty creamy, but a little bit thin, with a decent drinkability to it.
This little brewery has always intrigued me. This is one of the more enjoyable sour stouts that I've had - it's not really a style that I usually like.
