According to both the label and the merchant at FLX Provisions, this beer is contract brewed by ROC Brewing in Rochester, NY.
A milky haze of pail straw (SRM 2) erupts with a voluptuous, foamy, white head. It holds 2” before coalescing to form a rocky froth the proceeds to evaporate. Ultimately all that is left, is a coating of loose sea foam on a Pretentious Glass Co. American Lager glass.
Orange pith opens, followed by a recession of bitter grapefruit until only a faint remnant. If bitterness can be an aroma, then it certainly on display here. This is accompanied by an unpleasant grassiness, onion grass maybe.
It tastes like an old school East coast IPA, which is a bit of a surprise. Bitterness follows suit. The sweet fruit flavors are significantly below my expectations of a NEIPA. Grapefruit is definitely prominent, as is pine. The finish is moderately long, and wavers from modest to strong.
A medium body with a scratchy nylon texture, possibly coarse enough to resemble chiffon. Fine carbonation is about as expected, as is the alcohol. Given the aroma and the flavor, the mild astringency is very surprising.
While a good IPA, this is certainly not a NEIPA. There is nothing special, and I will finish the four-pack. It is a pleasant beer to unwind with. This said, there is nothing here that might invite me to seek it in the future.

On tap at the FLX Wienery in Dundee, NY.
This one pours a moderately hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like orange rind, grapefruit zest, pineapple, and grassy hops.
This is a pretty solid basic NE-style IPA. There's a refreshing bitterness, with a soft juicy character up front. I'd want it to maybe pop a little bit more, but it's still a decent little beer.
This is light bodied, clean, and relatively crisp, with a good drinkability to it.
I still don't really know who actually brews the beer for FLX Culture House, but I've had some good ones so far.
