my first from these guys, who seem awesome but i had to look them up to know who they were, collaboration with american solera who needs no introduction, a hazy double ipa with citra and citra cryo, amarillo cryo, and enigma, a neat combination and overall an excellent beer, cool to find on tap, and already eager for more from messorem. this is pale orange, starchy and thick, not quite milky but real hazy, frothy white headed and with very good carbonation keeping it from being too weighty. nose is citra dominated, early start with the cryo, crushed citrus, sliced pineapple, fresh coconut, and a littler verdant rindy thing, light amarillo spiciness, some green bitterness apparent too. there is a fine grain foundation in the flavor, its not all juice, probably wheat based, maybe some raw wheat, this is dry but not minimal, slightly nutty, supports the hops well. honey and hash from the hops early, the cryo intensity is obvious, green grape and pear, juicy pineapple and key lime, so fruity but also quite weedy and dank and sticky icky, on the edge of oversaturated but it really doesnt have that green burn, impressive, and i get just a subtle yeast element, not quite neutral but it works. fuller feeling and with some linger, but not boozy at all, and not a permanent decision for the palate as some of these can be. curious about other beers from these guys, this one is real solid, holds up against some of the heavier hitting east coast ipa types...
