From a 16oz can - or 473ml as our benighted northern neighbors would have it - dated 11/27/23. Served in an IPA glass.
Pours an opaque orange juice-colour with a scant finger of soft, soapy suds. Head retention is decent, leaving a creamy cap and a solid sheet of sudsy lacing.
Nose is disappointingly faint but flowery and spicy - that’s something new.
Taste is like the nose inasmuch as it’s something new - a little hard to pin down but it’s bready like pizza crust and floral like… I’m not sure what. Something with a bite. Tasting orange slices, lime, applesauce and black pepper. Black pepper lingers in my sinuses.
Feel is juicy but thin, relatively light bodied and brightly carbonated. Clean.
Overall, it’s a Frankenstein’s flavour profile, all sorts of things that don’t seem to go together but it doesn’t come across as muddled at all, in fact it seems quite clean and deliberate. I’ve held off until now on reading the label and ‘ekuanot’ and ‘wheat’ answer some of my questions - now that I know to, I’d probably add papaya to the things I think I taste. Interesting beer - it’s not going to make my top 50 but it was fun to tease apart.

A-Hazy cream corn color with a small ring of white head
S-Citrus pith scent with earthy sage aromas and a green fragrance
M-Medium body with peppery lower end carbonation. Mouthfeel is assertive and hop burn highly present. Juicy yet dry, and savoury
T-Heavy dose of citrus pith flavour and bitter aftertaste. Saline flavour and herbal notes of sage very present
O-The hop profile is distinct and not something I often go for. This market is particular, interesting to try, not sure if it is a repeat drink for me. Second try with a fresh can was a completely different experience…
