From a 16oz can with a smudged date stamp - 12/08/21, I think. Served in an IPA glass.
Pours a turbid, dull, mango juice colour with two-plus fingers of soft, merengue-like suds. Retention is excellent, leaving a beaten egg white cap and fat gobs of bubbly, sticky lacing.
Nose is mildly sweet, floral and yeasty-fruity. Pineapple and carnations.
Taste is soft, sticky tropical fruits and baking soda biscuit. Pineapple, sweet orange, mango purée and sandalwood finishing with drying, soda-like bitterness.
Feel is juicy, just slightly sticky, medium bodied with bright, zesty carbonation. No indication of the 8.4% abv.
Overall, really nice. I’ve been on a run lately of overly sweet DIPA’s so this one is doubly welcome and probably benefits by comparison, rating-wise.. Hits all the best fruity notes without being at all icky or cloying. Very much recommended.
