Frederiksberg 22/5 2025. 40 cl from tap at Tap 21, H.C Ørstedsvej, Frederiksberg C.
Pours unclear pale yellow with a small white head. Settles as a paper thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a bit of sourish grain. Sweet pale malts, bread and grains. Citrus and lemon.
Strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Fine, bitter and dry Lager.

Honestly, I don't know what to say. I am the furthest thing there is from a Messorem fanboy, but damned if this isn't a near-perfect beer. It manages to be interesting and bold while also being quite close to dead on for style. And--thinking about it now as I write this--it is one of the only beers of theirs I'll buy whenever I see it and am always pleased with (so far, knock on wood).
Gorgeous in the glass. Crystal-clear brass and an inch of ivory head whenever I damn well please with but a flick of the wrist. Like a commercial.
I am sure that the lovely floral, fresh lagery smell is slightly (but seriously, only slightly) over style. Ignoring style, it's just nice as could be. Super inviting aroma. It's clearly a beer.
The flavor manages to be perfectly unobtrusive but still flavorful. Faint cereal sweetness, with a kiss of earthy hop bitterness to cleanse the palate.
Some mineraly snap to it. Almost makes you thirsty as you drink it. High carbonation, clean as a whistle and dry as an unused whistle.
It truly pains me to give such a high score to anything, but in all honesty I can scarcely imagine a better American Light Lager™. Yes it is still a Lite beer, but that's the point. I have literally never looked forward to or anticipated a light lager before.
Classic but modern, complex but drinkable, quenching but makes you want more, dry but full, sweet but not, you can think about it or not think about it as much as you want while sipping. Just a good beer.
Mwah!

Can: Poured a golden color lager with a large dark white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of cereal notes with light residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of cereal notes with some floral notes and light residual sugar notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Solid lager with good drinkbaility.
