Impressive fluffy head that settles slowly to full layer of film on the beer. Wide streaks on the glad for lace. Hazy, approaching cloudy. Straw color with a hint of white from the haze.

Some grain to the nose. This countered with a very pleasant aromatic flowery hop smell.

The graininess carries forward. Full bodied for the style but with ample carbonation. The hop is not delicate but at least it doesn't overwhelm. The finish dries out the taste leaving a longer aftertaste.

From a 16oz can, dated 07/13/22. Served in a willi becher pub glass.

Pours a clear, pale sapphire-gold with two-plus fingers of sloppy white foam. Retention is pretty good, leaving a a heavy merengue-like collar and gobs of foamy lacing. Very pretty.

Nose is sweet and spicy. Aroma is vaguely reminiscent of Chinese duck sauce - which sounds like it had ought to be a flaw but which is, in fact, oddly enticing.

Taste does a complete 180° to the nose, being soapy with saccharine sweetness and ashy bitterness. Lingering aftertaste of sweetened ashtray and hand soap.

Feel is slick, slippery and tongue-coating. Medium bodied, flabby and maybe just a tad under-carbonated - at any rate, brighter carbonation would definitely have enhanced its drinkability.

Sorry, I just write ‘em the way I find ‘em. Still, it is a pretty beer to look at, isn’t it?
