Lovely looking in the glass. Very hazy pale yellow with a gorgous, long-lasting meringue head. Some streaky lacing. Nose is perfumey citrus behind an initial punch of sweet grapefruit. The flavor is similar, a little less sweet. Chalky-coating citrus pith with a lingering background of ruby red grapefruit juice with a bit of sweetness and a slight hop-shellac impression in the finish. Nice and round, juicy character lingers on the palate with the tiniest edge at the finish from the hops.
This is a great beer! A fine showcase of one of my all time favorite hops. Just in the pocket between bitter and sweet, nudged slightly towards the sweet. Also, a stunning example of my rollercoaster of a toxic relationship with Messorem. Get frustrated with them for umpteenth time; say I'm not going to go back; go back because I have an insatiable hankering for some lupulin goodness in my glass, gullet, and gut; go on a whim after work; get an awesome beer! Let's hope the other one I got is equally excellent.
Say it with me: I sure am glad I have three more of these to drink!
