American style IPA balanced by the heavy malt presence. This heavily hopped IPA bursts with a mix of tropical and piney notes thanks to the big additions of Warrior, Amarillo, Centennial and Simcoe hops. A clean bright nose that leads to that familiar West Coast punch.

On draught at the brewery. Served in a pint glass. It pours a clear, pretty honey color with more than a finger of creamy, eggshell-colored had and thick lacing. The nose is malt forward with notes of pine and citrus. The initial flavor is malt-forward with notes of brown bread. At first the pine is subdued but it emerges, along with the tart citrus, as the ale warms in the glass. There is lemon, grapefruit, orange, and a hint of pineapple from the Amarillo and Warrior hops and the Simcoe adds an earthy touch. The Centennial hops give it a clean, balanced bitterness throughout. Its mouth feel is lite and crisp with a pleasant level of carbonation, and it drinks easily at 6.8% ABV. Overall, I enjoyed Forward. It's on the malty side and should be allowed to settle in the glass as the fruit, pine, and bitterness assert themselves.
