16oz can from Beer Heaven. Pours out a nice orange, golden with a one finger fluffy head. Aroma is straight-up citrus peel, a little bit orange, a little bit grapefruit. Taste follows with grapefruit tanginess up front followed by a little bit of orange juice in the back. Pretty juicy overall and a lingering bitterness.

Dock Street Brewery South "King Juice Double IPA"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$20 / 4pk of 16 oz. cans
Notes via stream of consciousness: A very hazy golden body with an orange sheen teems with life beneath a two finger thick head of slightly yellowed white foam. Lots of tiny particulate is visible in suspension. The aroma isn't that bright but it's citrusy, resinous, and otherwise fruity. The taste offers more hops than the aroma suggests with notes of berries, tangerine, apricot, pine, grapefruit, peach, melon, and lime. The malt shows off both wheat and oats in addition to barley. A solid bitterness anchors it and brings it to a dry, piney and earthy finish that lingers with some "hop burn" showing. In the mouth it's medium bodied, and seeminlgy on the fuller side due to all of the extra proteins from the wheat and oats. The carbonation is median, and it's gently zesty across the palate. The head held up pretty well and it's left some decent lacing. All in all this is a decent beer but it doesn't live up to the greatness of some.

Another King of Beers? Let’s hope so. A pint can poured into a clear glass liter mug reveals a dirty blond colored brew with the now common starchy white foamy head. There's some nice hop smells in the air and hopes are they aren't muted in the taste by the oats and wheat. Glass lacing is just fine. This is really a nice combination of hops. They haven't been starched to oblivion. Present throughout the drinking, they run from dank to dry and bitter as the finish concludes. In fact, they're so well executed, the absence of a good malt body is mitigated. Just enough taste of alcohol adds positive notes to the overall taste. This is a preferable King.
