Dock Street- Gold Stock Ale

A- Bright yellow with a thin head and no lacing.
S- Husky grain malt aroma with a bit of cooked corn?!
T- Sugary corn and lemon touched malt. Sugary with citrus and vanilla.
M- Very sugary up front with a dry body and a dry earthy hod finish. Slight perfumy dryness in the end.

Overall- Just boring and bland for me.

Had on tap at the Dock Street Brewery

A. Very bright golden body with a creamy 1.5 finger head that wouldn't let go. A very nice lacing stuck inside the glass throughout the session.

S. A smell of light pine and citrus fruit along with a hint of vanilla.

T. Very nice complexity of citrus and smooth malts with a nice surprising bite of hops in the finish. The vanilla comes through along with the hops to leave a very nice aftertaste that leads you to want more.

M. Wonderful medium body that clings to the palette. The carbonation is crisp, and once downed...a very nice hop presence binds with the sweetness of the malt and the body lingers for a minute until you take the next sip.

D. I could fall in love with this beer with the overall quality and complexity of this brew. Very easy to drink; not too light, not too heavy. The flavor has the malt and hops I look for, but not too dominant in either category. Well balanced and delicious. Good enough for me to buy a sixel and hook it up to my kegerator at home. Great Job Dock Street!

On tap at Dock Street on 8/6/08.

A - Hazy golden/light amber body with one-finger creamy white head that receded to a thin ring of retention but left plenty of lacing behind.

S - Citrus hops abound with hints of orange and lemon zest. Some piney notes and sweet malts are also in the mix, but take a back seat to the fresh citrus hop aroma. There's also a touch of vanilla present.

T - Tasty blend of citrus and pine with a subtle malt presence, but enough to keep the hops in check. Some fruity accents and a bit of vanilla also emerge to join the party. Additionally, some woody/oak notes open up in the finish. Hops really start to pick up momentum the more you drink this.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation and a thin, syrupy texture. Nice lingering hop bite in the finish.

D - This ale straddles the line between APA and IPA. Nice hop profile that is well-balanced with the malts. Good job, Dock Street!
