Dock Street Brewery "Brewery Frog"
$7.50 / pint on tap at the brewery on 28 January 2023
Look: A very hazy golden body is capped by a short head of white foam. Average plus head retention and lacing.
Smell: Citrusy, otherwise fruity, and floral over a sweetish and grainy malt base.
Taste: Sweetish, grainy, and oat-like malt is threaded through with notes of citrus, peach, apricot, sweet berries, and pine and spice. The bitterness is moderate to median but it still finishes mainly dry.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp.
Overall: A decent NEIPA that could use a few more hops but doesn't let you down.

Here at 22nd & Washington, this was served in a clear pint glass, drawn from a tap. In typical Philly style, it comes with minimal head. It's a bright, yet opaque apricot-amber. Its aroma is mild, but seems to be a pleasant blend of standard hops and malt. The blend of Simcoe and Mosaic hops is such a nice one here. They combine to stand up to the Pilsner malt and softening oats in great balance. The Mosaic hops add a bit of a reference to apricot, or maybe it's its color. Then the Simcoe hops add just enough of the bitterness in an earthy way. The missing glass lacing isn't missing, as this drinks so good. At the time of this post, this is considered a one off. Hopes are those plans change.
