Rich dark brown color, small head that dissipates quickly; minimal lacing.
Aroma is spicy and loaded with yeasty esters; bananas, caramel, and faint alcohol. Taste has ample dark fruits and rich maltiness; figs, prunes, spices. Bananas and other yeasty notes. Caramel, toffee, fruitcake.Booze hiding pleasantly just below the surface. Quite tasty.
Medium carbonation and body; lingering sweet candied banana aftertaste. Pretty good interpretation of the style and overall one of the tastier beers I’ve had at Dock Street. A nice warming glass on a rainy, raw afternoon. Very well done if not quite rising to the exceptional level.
