A- This pours a very dark chocolate brown, with a decent amount of clarity for a stout, and the head is a medium tan color and about one finger thick, which fizzles out very quickly into a thin ring around the inside of the glass. There seems to be quite a few small columns of carbonation rising to the top somewhat aggressively too. Lacing is pretty much non existent with only an oily/watery film covering the inside of my glass. Overall this is an average looking stout....probably even a little underwhelming...

S- There is a decent roasty/toasty aroma about this one......damp Earth, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, lactose sweet cream and some vanilla sweetness to help counter things out. The finish has some astringency/char, along with some hop bitterness....nice on the nostrils.

T- I quite like the flavors going on here, and this reminds me of a nice classic milk stout! Vanilla creme truffle, sweet cream, dry biscuit, cocoa powder bitterness, with milk and dark chocolates to help smooth things out. I agree with the previous review that the flavors follow suit to the aromas....well balanced between the dark charred malts used, with lactose and yeasty characters keeping this quite delectable.....the finish is dry and just somewhat hopped....perfect! On a side note, as this warms up, the bittering chocolate notes become more prominent and start hitting the sides of the tongue.

M/O- Mouthfeel is medium/full bodied and the carbonation, like it appeared, is zesty and more aggressive than I would prefer for the style.....it doesn't really take away from anything but I'd rather have the flavors coat my palate more than it does....minor complaint though. The alcohol is well hidden, not that it is a boozy beer by any means, and I find it quite drinkable.....a nice finish to a cool weather supper or would pair well with a chocolate based dessert.

Appearance - Pours a chestnut brown with two fingers of cream coloured head.

Smell - earthy and leafy hops, cocoa, roasted grassy malts, sweet aromas, vanilla, and earthy yeast.

Taste - earthy and leafy hops upfront. The cocoa, roasted grassy malts, sweet aromas, hint of lactose, and vanilla follow suit. The earthy yeast rounds out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth and creamy with the hops and light sweetness and roasty malts lingering.

Overall - For my second offering from this solely gluten free brewery, this one is slightly better than the tropical haze IPA. Going into this one with an open mind, I feel as though the flavours are there but for me personally, I feel it could use a little more oomph in the flavour department.
