One Barrel Brewing Company

I hopped in for a quick visit hoping I could wash the mediocrity of Shipwrecked beer out of my mouth, as it's an easy walk between the two places. One Barrel's taproom looks like it could cope with the massive crowds of tourists during the summer months, and the interior and patio are very spacious. Bonfire pits, benches and a place for dogs to roam around outside, while the inside takes on a few comforts of home along with a long bar with stools.

Beer can be ordered from the inside or outside window, however be warned that ordering from the outside leaves you with 1) a plastic cup, and 2) less of a description of the beers pouring. 11 on-tap pouring with 5 year rounders (Commuter Kolsch, Up North Lager, Ninja Dust Hazy IPA) and 6 seasonal-specialty beers (bourbon barrel aged pumpkin ale, Banjo Cat Porter, Grapefruit Commuter Kolsch). While the beer is nothing out of this world, it remains more than decent and a step above from what's being poured down the street.

 

Well located on the Green Bay side of Door County. Well suited to handle the busy summer season with loads of shaded tables outdoors and plenty of indoor seating as well. Service is at the bar only, is efficient and friendly. Small samples of any tap are cheerfully provided.

No food, but a pizza place in the same building is popular, fast and tasty.
