We brewed our traditional American imperial stout, ‘Dark Banter’, then aged it in Scotch whisky barrels. Smooth rich dark coffee flavours from the roasted malts and oats, while the barrels infuse the beer with sweet caramel, biscuit and almond flavours and subtle smokiness.

L: Black colour with some ruby edging. No head, just a mocha ring.
S: Dark chocolate aroma emerges as the beer warms.
T: Bitter chocolate, espresso coffee and hot alcohol.
F: Full bodied and velvet smooth.
O: For 12.5%, this is pretty easy to drink. It’s very nicely balanced and the mouthfeel is gentle. Coffee and chocolate is complemented by whisky ageing. There’s noticeable alcohol but nothing is overblown or harsh.
