This collaboration with Lochlea Distillery celebrates not only ours but their 5th Birthday this month too as well as the inception of our future journey together. Earlier this year we brewed our first double mash stout using 12 kinds of malts including Caramalt, Chocolate Malt, Chocolate Wheat, Chocolate Rye, Carabohemian, you get the point. The rich chocolate caramel base was then matured in Lochlea's special selection of barrels allowing them to create their first core product 'Our Barley'. This barrel combination included the perfect recipe of ex-bourbon, ex-Oloroso sherry casks as well as shaved, toasted and re-charred barriques.

Copenhagen 3/9 2024. 44 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Black can in Overtone's usual design with the name of the brewery written vertically and a stylized silver feather.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Stable. Settles as thin layer of foam not quite managing to cover the surface of the beer.
Aroma is intense with a sugary and boozy odor with a light touch of roasted malts. Brown sugar, toffee and caramel. Dark alcohol. Bourbon and sweet liqueur.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, a bit sticky, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sugary sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter dark chocolate in the undertone. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry with a touch of alcohol.
Potent and sweet dark bomb.
