Freak Folk Bier, "Melted" Double IPA
Citra Nelson Galaxy
Waterbury, VT
Canned on 12/23/25
Not a huge fan of Hazy or Nelson hops, but was gifted this can, so let's go...
light on the nose; the white wine of Nelson and some ripe peach and tangerine. Pleasant, overall.
Pours the muddled, cloudy creamscicle haze typical of the style (unappealing to my sense of beer aesthetics). But it's also got a vibrant, electric orange/yellow glow.
Taste follows nose. It's bright, but there's a bite- not a welcoming hop bitterness, but a harsh citrus tang.
Mouthfeel is mostly smooth, a muted carbonation, but a little chalky on the finish. A touch thick and syrupy.
Aptly named, as everything- aroma, appearance, taste-is all kind of 'melted together.
Overall, a fine Hazy DIPA. Enjoy....

Pours a pale dirty yellow thumb sized white head, good lace.
Aroma is soft tropical fruits, light peach and white grapes.
Taste tropical fruits, tangerine, peach hints, white grape notes. Finish is lingering fruit and a light rind bitterness. Good flavor but could be more bitter or maybe just fruitier. Not bad but not awe inspiring as the Tarred and Feathered.
Mouthfeel is medium smooth fluffy carbonation.
Overall a good hazy.
