Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It pours a translucent, bright golden color with a thin, milky head that dissipated quickly. I suspect that the appearance is better when poured from a can. The smell offers malty sweetness and rye bread. The taste opens on the sweet side with caramel and perhaps a hint of corn but is quickly balanced by the dry, somewhat spicy flavor of rye and tart, bitter lemon. It's nicely balanced. This lager has a lite, crisp mouth feel with lively carbonation and at 5.5% ABV it has good substance. Overall, the use of rye provides an added dimension to what is already a very good lager. It was great on a hot, humid Saturday in August.

For anyone whos a fan of premium lagers and easy drinking beers this one is for you. The subtle notes of rye spice are authentic and minimal while the crisp clean lager base keeps things lean. Nice sweetness from the grains and rye and low bitterness. This is a great beer!
