From the bottle, it pours a garnet color into the glass, the head forming and thinning quickly. With the -ator ending, you expect a strong malty beer, and this one does not disappoint. Decent flavor.

33cl bottle poured into my Celebrator chalice.
BBE 10 December 2011
A- Garnet body with excellent clarity. 1 finger creamy off white head reduces quickly to thin crown with average to little lacing.
S- Light toasted malts, chocolate malts, a little plum/raisin richness.
T- Lightly toasted malts are elegant with undertones of chocolate malts. Alcohol is very well hidden. Smooth. Finish is medium sweet but still clean.
M- Low to average carbonation, medium body with clean lager finish.
D- Not particularly pleasing on the eye but the nose and palate are a good example of the style although not prominent enough to make it world class. Mouthfeel is a little lifeless but this is still a tasty doppelbock with good sessionability
