On tap at The Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT.
This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small white head and lots of lacing.
This is quite toasty and chocolatey, with some rich nuttiness, and pumpernickel bread.
I think this is supposed to be a dunkel or something, and it works pretty well. It’s almost porter like in how chocolatey it is, but there’s also more classically dunkel vibes, like nutty and bready malt. There’s very little hop character, just a little whisp of bitterness.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and pretty drinkable.
Black Flannel is definitely a very underrated Vermont brewery.
